1. Who's responsible for this site
Zorglane is a trade name of Shay Works, registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 98500562. If you have a question about this policy or your data, contact hello@zorglane.com.
2. What we collect, and why
Zorglane is built so the questionnaire, the medication checker and the moving checklist all run in your browser — your answers, searches and checklist are never sent to us. The only things we actually collect are below.
If you join the waitlist
Email address, where you are in your move (planning, just arrived, or settled), and your consent to be emailed when early access opens. If you joined from one of our four main "find your next step" results — plan, move/just arrived, insurance, or specialist/surgery — we also record the name of that result, so we know what to prioritise. If you joined from a more sensitive result — mental health, pregnancy, medication, child health, after-treatment care, or dental — we don't record which one; that field is left blank. If you answer the optional "what would help most" follow-up after signing up, we record your email and the topics you picked (for example "insurance" or "dental").
If you use the medicine checker and your medicine isn't listed
You can optionally type the name of the medicine you searched for, tick a consent checkbox, and send it, so we know what to add next. Nothing else on that screen is collected — your search itself stays in your browser. Our hosting provider, Netlify, automatically records the IP address of whoever submits this form, as it does for every form on this site.
Every visit to the site
Basic, cookieless analytics (see PostHog below) and standard web server logs kept by our hosting provider, Netlify (see below).
3. Legal basis for each
- Waitlist signup and follow-up: your consent (you tick a box to opt in, and can withdraw it any time by emailing us).
- Medicine-checker feedback: your consent (you tick a box to confirm you understand only the medicine name is sent, and that Netlify records your IP address with it).
- Hosting logs: our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site.
- Analytics: our legitimate interest in understanding which pages and tools are used, weighed against the fact that it's cookieless, stores nothing on your device, and never identifies you individually. [This characterization is our own read of the setup, not a legal opinion — worth a quick sanity check from a privacy professional before relying on it.]
4. Who else sees this data
We use two outside services to run Zorglane. We don't sell data to anyone, and no one can pay to see or influence it.
- Netlify (hosting, and the forms above) — Netlify's privacy policy.
- PostHog (analytics, EU Cloud) — PostHog's privacy policy. Configured cookieless, with memory-only storage (nothing persists between visits), autocapture/session recording/heatmaps/surveys off, IP addresses discarded, and location data (GeoIP) disabled on every event. The only events it can ever send are a page view, which page you arrived from (if you followed a link with a tracking tag), and which "find your next step" result you opened or finished — by name only, never your answers.
5. Data leaving the EU
PostHog's EU Cloud keeps analytics data in the EU, so no international transfer happens there.
Netlify is a US company, so hosting your visit and any form you submit does involve a transfer outside the EU. Netlify's own privacy policy states that it relies on the Standard Contractual Clauses published by the European Commission (Implementing Decision 2021/914), and that Netlify self-certifies under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions) as an additional safeguard.

6. How long we keep it
- Waitlist and follow-up signups: kept until early access opens, and deleted after 24 months at the latest even if it hasn't — or sooner, any time you ask us to delete it. Netlify doesn't automatically delete form submissions, so this depends on us removing them on schedule, not a setting that enforces itself.
- Medicine-checker feedback: kept for 12 months, then deleted.
- Hosting/access logs: kept and eventually deleted on Netlify's own schedule as our hosting provider; we don't set this ourselves.
- Analytics events: kept for 1 year, per PostHog Cloud's standard retention on the Free plan.
7. What stays only on your device
These never reach us at all:
- Your answers in the "find your next step" tool.
- Your searches in the medicine checker (other than the optional feedback box above).
- Your moving checklist: your answers and which items you've ticked off, saved in your browser's local storage. You can delete this at any time with the "Delete my checklist" button, which removes it completely.
- Your "My care contacts" — the name and phone number you choose to save for your GP, pharmacy, huisartsenpost and health insurer, saved in your browser's local storage so they're one tap away next time. You can delete all of it at any time with the "Delete all saved contacts" button, which removes it completely.
- If you use the English/中文 language switcher, your choice (just "English" or "中文" — nothing else) is saved in your browser's local storage, so the site remembers it on your next visit. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
Zorglane doesn't use cookies. The only things stored in your browser are the moving checklist, My care contacts, and the language preference described above.
8. No medical data
Zorglane doesn't ask for, and isn't designed to collect, medical data. The forms above only ever collect an email address, a general stage of moving, topic checkboxes (like "insurance" or "dental"), or a medicine name you choose to type — never symptoms, diagnoses, medication details, or anything from the questionnaire itself. The result name recorded with a waitlist signup (section 2) is limited to our four non-sensitive results — plan, move/just arrived, insurance, and specialist/surgery. For the more sensitive results — mental health, pregnancy, medication, child health, after-treatment care, and dental — we deliberately don't record which one, so nothing health-adjacent reaches us even indirectly.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR, you can ask us to:
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct it, if it's wrong.
- Delete it — for example, removing your waitlist signup.
- Withdraw your consent at any time, for anything based on consent (like the waitlist), without affecting what happened before you withdrew it.
Email hello@zorglane.com for any of these. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
10. Changes to this policy
If what we collect or how we use it changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Spotted something that doesn't match what the site actually does? Email hello@zorglane.com — that's exactly the kind of mistake we want to fix fast.
